Xiaomi Air 2 SE – new $25 wireless earbuds that are no worse than AirPods

The most popular and widespread headphones on the market are Apple’s AirPods, and they enjoy record high popularity around the world, and all this even despite their cost, which exceeds $160. However, fortunately, not all brands try to inflate the cost of their products at times. Today, May 14, 2020, the official announcement of such a long-awaited by many new items like Xiaomi Air 2 SE took place. These are new wireless headphones for $25, which are no worse than AirPods from the “apple” corporation, and they can boast a huge variety of different advantages that make them incredibly attractive in terms of their combination of qualities. Their main advantage, of course, is their low cost.

Since these headphones cost very little, everyone can afford to buy them, and since they work based on Bluetooth 5.0 LE technology, they can be used in tandem with any models of laptops, smartphones, tablets, personal computers, TVs, smartwatches, and other gadgets with this communication module. The device is delivered in a special case of compact size with a built-in battery. As the manufacturing company assures, both headphones together with the case can work in total for about 20 hours. All this time, they will be able to reproduce sound at an average volume level. The headphones themselves work on a single charge for 4 – 5 hours, but this indicator strongly depends on the quality of signal reception from the device, and also, in addition, on the ambient temperature.

The official recommended price of the Xiaomi Air 2 SE headphones is only 169 yuan, that is, their purchase costs an extremely modest amount of money, which everyone can afford to give without a friend and unnecessary difficulties. At the bottom of each of the two earbuds, there are special magnetic plugs through which charging is carried out in the case. When the headphones are in the ears, no one can see them, so from an aesthetic point of view, this decision certainly does not raise questions. Making these plugs visible, and not invisible, as in AirPods, had to be for the sake of surprising the entire device. The novelty in its entirety, including the case, is made of wear-resistant white plastic, and the earbuds are of the “in-ear” design, so they can be safely used even during outdoor sports.

Inside each of the two headphones there are 14.2-mm drivers with a built-in microphone, and the headphones are also supplemented with the Beamforming noise cancellation system, but this is a passive suppression of extraneous sounds, not active, so isolate yourself from what is happening, for example, in the subway or at the airport. will not work. It is impossible not to notice that the new headphones from Xiaomi work independently of each other, so that they can be used separately from each other to thus increase the overall battery life or just talk to someone using the headphones as a wireless headset. Official sales of Xiaomi Air 2 SE wireless headphones in China will begin on May 19, and their appearance in Europe is expected in June-July 2020.
