Dyson unveils its first electric car, the N526

The world-famous Dyson company, which in recent years has specialized in the creation and production of vacuum cleaners, also creates many other electronic devices powered by electricity. The employees of this brand are distinguished by unusual thinking and ideas, thanks to which the company manages year after year to create and launch on the market truly extremely attractive products in terms of their combination of qualities. Today, May 17, 2020, the official announcement of a branded electric car called N526 took place. Of course, this is only its code name, but whether it will enter the market at all is not yet known for sure, because the company is still not sure whether it is worth going into this area of business.

The Dyson N526 electric car is incredibly advanced in its combination of qualities. It has seven seats for passengers, and itself belongs to the category of crossovers, that is, such vehicles that are intended primarily for city travel. As you might expect, the car does not have an internal combustion engine, being completely environmentally friendly, that is, it does not harm the environment during operation. On a single charge, the car can travel 965 kilometers, that is, more than twice as many competitors. All this became possible thanks to special solid-state batteries, which are a proprietary development of Dyson, which it patented a few years ago.

At the same time, according to the company, its batteries work equally well both in summer and in winter, that is, they do not lose their properties when operated in cold weather, which also favorably distinguishes the new electric car against the background of competitors, including Tesla and BMW. Weighing 2.6 tons, that is, extremely large, the crossover can accelerate to 100km/h from a standstill in just 4.8 seconds, and its maximum speed can reach 200 km/h. Inside the car are two 200 kW electric motors, which equates to approximately 536 horsepower in a conventional aircraft engine. The size of the car is far from being the most compact because it is approximately five meters long, two months wide, and 1.7 meters high.

The car was equipped with special seats with special ergonomics, which perfectly support the lower back and allow you to drive with comfort. The manufacturing company has already spent more than $600 million on the Dyson N526 electric vehicle, and this car is still a prototype that is not ready for mass production. According to the heads of the head of the company, James Dyson, his company does not have its fleet of cars and the capacity to produce them, therefore, to simply recoup the release of such a car on the market, the brand will have to sell each vehicle with a markup of at least $180,000, and this is not including the cost of parts and assembly costs.

That is why, as noted, the company may not release this electric car to the market, but provide third-party companies with access to their technologies and patents for money, so that they use the latest developments in their vehicles, thereby making them an order of magnitude better. However, the final decision on this matter has not yet been made.
