Apple has relieved iPhone users of constant surveillance

Now UWB can be disabled

Released last year, the iPhone received a new U1 chip with Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology to support ultra-wideband connections. Because of this innovation, the device’s location is tracked even when geolocation services are turned off. It seems that Apple finally decided to fix this defect. In the beta version of iOS 13.3.1, the U1 chip can be disabled.

A new option was noticed by journalists. The switch can be found in the “System Services” settings menu.

UWB technology can be used to transfer files and accurately locate other Apple devices equipped with U1. The chip allows you to determine the geolocation with an accuracy of 5-10 centimeters. Unfortunately, in some countries this function of the new iPhone does not work due to the reluctance of departments to allocate the right frequency range for the technology.
