China launches production of powerful NIO electric crossover

The Chinese company Nio began production of its third electric crossover EC6.

It is reported by obozrevatel. Production was made possible through an agreement with the Hefei City Administration, which provided the company with a billion euros.

EC6 is a coupe-SUV with three different batteries with a capacity of 70, 84 and 100 kWh. The latest option is the new Nio liquid-cooled battery pack that gives the EC6 615 km mileage

The all-wheel drive base version of the NIO EC6 Sporty comes with 160 kW (218 hp) engines that offer combined power of 320 kW (436 hp) and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. The standard equipment includes a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 70 kWh, providing a declared range of 425 km.

The NIO EC6 Performance version will receive a 160 kW engine on the front axle and a more powerful 240 kW asynchronous motor on the rear axle, which total 400 kW (544 hp). Thanks to this, the “high-speed” version will accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds.
