The Razr foldable smartphone has not yet been on sale, but Motorola is counting on it to be successful, and is already working on an improved version of this device. She creates a model with support for fifth-generation communications networks.
In the Chinese city of Wuhan, the International Expo Center will soon be held, and Motorola will show a 5G version of Razr at it. The assembly of this smartphone is carried out in Wuhan – one of the factories of Lenovo, which owns Motorola Mobility, is located there.
Razr will initially be sold only in the United States, and Razr with 5G support is likely to become exclusive to China. However, if these devices sell well, it is possible that Lenovo will decide to release their international market.
Motorola recently announced it will receive pre-orders for Razr in the United States, and this smartphone will be on sale on February 6 and will cost $1,500.
The new Razr is made in almost the same form factor as the 2004 Razr V3, but it has a folding screen and a modern filling. The new product uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor, 6 GB of RAM, a 128-gigabyte drive and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone supports eSIM technology and runs on Android 9. The developers have added a special mode with an imitation of the interface of the original Razr V3 model. In this mode, a virtual keyboard appears at the bottom of the screen.
The folding screen of the Razr smartphone has a diagonal of 6.2 inches. To protect it from scratches, a special coating is provided on it, and the edges of the device are protected from moisture and small debris. On the bottom there is a fingerprint scanner that is used to unlock the smartphone, authorize in some applications and confirm payments. Razr has two cameras: the main 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel front. The main camera can be removed when the smartphone is folded or unfolded, and as a viewfinder, you can use not only a folding screen, but also an auxiliary one. The front camera is activated when the smartphone is opened.
