Turn on the dark theme in WhatsApp

A few days ago, we talked about how the Facebook application development team began to introduce a dark theme into the application. Similar measures are now being taken with the WhatsApp Android app.

TheNextWeb informs that so far this is true exclusively for Android, but not for iOS. In addition, to activate a dark theme, you will have to use the latest beta version of WhatsApp. The opportunity has not yet reached the release build.

Where to download WhatsApp beta?

You can’t join the beta program of the app on the Google Play Store. If you try to receive a message that the maximum number of testers has already been collected, and new ones are not required.

But you can dodge and go the other way, for example, on apkmirror.

How to activate a dark theme?

Go to the familiar settings section, tap on three points in the corner of the application. In the settings, select the “Chats” section, inside we see the “Themes” menu, in which we select the dark design mode.

It will look something like this:

User opinions here are divided again into two camps. The part that was looking for new aesthetic sensations is happy, the other says that the dark design theme is primarily needed not for beauty or not to reduce eye strain, but to save battery power, which really cannot be done, because the theme does not use black, which reveals the potential of AMOLED screens.
