While the production is test
Apple has already begun test production of a new low-cost smartphone, known to the public as the iPhone 9 or iPhone SE 2. This was reported by Chinese sources from the supply chain.
Full-fledged mass production starts in mid-February, and the official debut will take place in March. In the same month, sales start.
The iPhone 9 will retain the 4.7-inch form factor and some other features of the iPhone 8, including the Touch ID fingerprint scanner in the home button.
However, it will receive an updated A13 platform, which underlies the iPhone 11, as well as the “whole” 3GB of RAM. Due to the new SoC, the battery life will increase significantly. The price should remain as affordable as possible – at $399 for the younger configuration.
