Once the leader in the mobile market, Apple, has lost its second place in the ranking of the largest sellers of smartphones, moving to the third step of the pedestal.
Huawei took its place, which the US government tried to crush in every possible way.
Analytical companies Canalys and Counterpoint Research have published their reports on the smartphone market in 2019.
Both firms reported that Huawei’s position has changed the most in a year. The company showed 16-17% annual growth, which allowed it to take second place in the global ranking of smartphone providers, behind Samsung, but ahead of Apple.
The market leader, Samsung, holds 20% of the global market. In second place is Huawei with 16%, and in third – Apple, with 13% of the market. Close the top five Xiaomi and Oppo with 8% of the market for each.
Counterpoint believes that the main reason for the success of Huawei is the high popularity of the brand in China: “This was the result of aggressive promotion of Huawei in the Chinese market, where it gained a share of almost 40%.” At the same time, 60% of Huawei’s shipments come from China.
