Xiaomi has released a “counter” of inhaled air

The Chinese company Xiaomi, being one of the largest and most famous brands in the world, continues to do everything possible to ensure that as wide a circle of people as possible can constantly use products under its brand name. And at the same time, it does not matter whether it will be clothes or some kind of electronic gadget, because this electronics manufacturer produces hundreds of different items, and once every few weeks it introduces and launches new products on the market. On the account of this corporation from China there are already several masks for cleaning air inhaled by humans, but all of them are simple. However, now the brand has decided to create and market a “smart” mask that contains a “counter” of inhaled air.

This device has not yet gone on sale, but it has already been certified for sale in China, that is, the gadget has already been fully created, and its certification has been successful. The new device does not yet have a specific name, so now it’s just a “smart” mask for protection from harmful air, designed for constant daily use. It contains various sensors and sensors, as well as a battery, a processor and other components that allow such a device to calculate on a 24-hour basis how much oxygen a particular person consumed. You can get this kind of information through a smartphone, to which the mask will connect via Bluetooth by analogy with a regular sports bracelet.

When a user connects a mask to a mobile device, it can fix a person’s location every 10 to 15 minutes, thereby determining where he is. After that, a special algorithm will compare the movements with an air pollution map, which is updated every day, and will report on how much harmful air the mask has filtered, turning it into normal, and possibly even useful, because this device has special filters that saturate various useful oxygen elements. Such an apparatus could not do without an accelerometer and a gyroscope, with the help of which it is determined how often a person breathes and whether he is in motion, or if he is stationary.

Perhaps this will seem strange to someone, but in many regions of China the air is so polluted that the use of a mask to protect against harmful impurities in the air becomes an everyday reality. It is for such people that such a new device from Xiaomi is primarily designed, and its entry into the market should happen in the next few months. Given the reputation of this brand, it is very likely that such a “smart” mask with an integrated “counter” of inhaled air will cost no more than $ 30 (1,800 rubles), and the filters for it will certainly be sold separately, that is, buy a new mask every time definitely not guaranteed to have to.
