Google Stadia has become free

Back in the second half of last 2019, a service called Google Stadia would have been launched, and it allows it to play computer video games on any electronic devices, and the presence of such powerful technical equipment is not required, which, in turn, allows you to play in high definition even on weak computers. To use this service, you need to pay money for a subscription, and it costs a lot – as much as $9.99 per month. By giving such a sum of money on an ongoing monthly basis, the user gets access to the company’s servers, which allow them to run any computer games at maximum graphics settings up to 4K UHD (3840 by 2160 pixels) and a frequency of up to 60 frames per second (FPS). Fortunately, starting today, you do not need to pay money to use this service.

Last year, the American corporation Google promised that in 2020 this service will become free for everyone. Now, more than six months after that, this promise has been kept, because starting April 8, 2020, you can use Stadia for free without having to pay for a subscription. From now on, not only buyers of a branded set of gamepads and TV set-top boxes can get access to it, but also ordinary users. All it takes is a simple Gmail account, which can be created in just two minutes. From now on, you can use the Stadia Pro subscription completely free for two months, and it will be full, so you can enjoy the game in 4K UHD at 60 frames per second.

In the near future, in the second half of this year, it will be possible to use the permanent free subscription to Google Stadia, but in this case it will be possible to play only in 1920×1080 pixels (Full HD) at 60 fps. With a paid subscription, it will be possible to play in high definition, and already in 2021, the “search giant” wants to provide users with the opportunity to launch games in 8K. It is important to understand and take into account that the payment for the servers of the American corporation does not include the cost of games, so you need to buy these separately, but you can use your existing ones if they were purchased on Steam, Uplay, Origin, Epic Games Store and other services that sell video games.

However, Google has taken care of those who want to use a two-month trial version of this subscription. All such people will also receive nine modern video games for free, including Destiny 2, GRID, GYLT, the Tough Sam trilogy and several others. At present, the Stadia service, as well as after its launch, operates in fourteen countries of the world, which do not include Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Currently, it can be used by residents of the USA, Great Britain, Canada, Belgium, Finland, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden, but in the future this list will become noticeably larger. However, you can play now, but in this case, due to the large remoteness of the servers, the latency (ping) will be significantly increased.
