The first test launch of the prototype Starship spaceship in a new modification is scheduled for March or April 2020, said SpaceX founder Ilon Musk on his Twitter page.
Musk said that SpaceX specialists made changes to the design of the Starship ship under development after a failed test in November 2019. The construction of the first prototype in SN modification was launched at the SpaceX site in Texas.
The founder of SpaceX also talked about changing the development strategy of the spacecraft. Previously, parallel work on different prototypes was carried out at two SpaceX sites – in Texas and at Cape Canaveral (Florida). Musk noted that the site in Florida is now focused on launching Falcon launch vehicles and Dragon ships, and the Texas division will continue to work on a prototype Starship.
Recall that SpaceX is developing the Starship and Super Heavy launch vehicle for flights outside Earth orbit.
